Directions

1. Stir espresso powder and 3/4 cup boiling water in a small bowl; cool completely.

2. Purée dates, salt and 1/3 cup cold water in a blender on high until smooth, scraping down blender occasionally. Add banana, ice, milk, protein powder, vanilla extract and espresso; purée on high until smooth. Makes about 6 cups.

3. Serve frappé garnished with whipped topping, if desired.
