Why is breakfast so important?

Ideally, the first meal of the day will provide you with important nutrients, such as carbohydrates, proteins and healthy fats, as well as valuable vitamins and minerals. When you eat breakfast, your body gets renewed energy after a night’s sleep because your brain is supplied with glucose. Missing breakfast can make you feel listless and tired or cause you to have cravings during the day. It makes sense, therefore, to eat breakfast. However, people each have their own individual rhythm. While some people may feel on top of the world in the morning, it may be lunchtime or evening before others come to life. If you don’t have an appetite at all in the morning, you shouldnt force yourself to eat. A late breakfast is also great.

What does a healthy breakfast look like?

Sweet muesli, white toast, croissants, processed meat and sugary spreads are not the ideal choice for your morning meal. Instead, try a balanced mix of fruit, vegetables, whole grain products, seeds and dairy products or dairy alternatives. They provide even non-breakfast eaters with plenty of fibre and nutrients. Water or unsweetened teas are a good accompaniment.

Tip 1: Start the day with some exercise

Do you find it difficult to get out of the bed in the morning and struggle to even drink a cup of coffee? Then try to fit in some morning exercise.
