Spring may have arrived but do you still feel that you are in “hibernation mode”? No problem – you don’t need to jump on the mountain bike just yet! We are taking a more relaxed approach as the days get warmer. Our top 10 well-being ideas will help you to enjoy the coming of spring – both indoors and outdoors – calmly and without stress. There’s so much to look forward to: barefoot trails, a saunter around the weekly market, colourful arrays of fruit, the first birdsong of the year, ice cream treats or a park bench meditation. We love some spring well-being!

  1. Put together the perfect spring outfit
Heavy coats, warm boots and woolly hats can disappear back into the wardrobe. Now that spring is here, it’s time to wear something light and airy. Colourful sweaters, spring dresses and casual blouses are waiting to make an appearance and enhance your sense of well-being. And don’t forget to wear your sunglasses when you go for a walk outdoors.

  2. Plant your garden or balcony
Spring time is nature time! Once the last frost has passed, plant your garden or balcony to mark the start of sunnier days. Colourful blooms are guaranteed to lift your mood. Begonias, dahlias, gladioli and ox-eye daisies are all good choices for a spring flower bed. But spring vegetables, like kohlrabi, radishes, spinach and lettuce, will also make a splash!

  3. Visit a barefoot trail
You will find barefoot trails in forests or parks. Here you can walk barefoot on a variety of natural materials: clay, gravel, sand, bark mulch, marble or grass. This well-being idea is a therapeutic experience in spring. A relaxed stroll along a barefoot trail improves motor skills, promotes sensory perception and enhances coordination.

  4. Try some spring fruit recipes
Fresh fruit is a must if you want to dive into spring with a pep in your step. And it’s all very relaxed in the kitchen as our Dole recipes are quick and easy to rustle up. Fresh smoothies, bowls and salads taste fantastic in spring. How about our pineapple Buddha bowl, berry smoothie or courgette and blueberry salad

  5. Listen to the birds singing
When was the last time that you consciously listened to the birds singing? You should definitely think about this well-being idea to kick off your spring. This joyful spring awakening can be experienced in a forest, park or your own garden. The dawn chorus, as the name suggests, is most vibrant early in the morning. Keep your ears open for blackbirds, tits, chaffinches, wrens, robin redbreasts and many other spring voices!

  6. Treat yourself to the first ice cream of the year
An unforgettable moment! The first delicious ice cream sundae symbolically heralds the arrival of spring. As soon as the first rays of sunshine make an appearance, enjoy this chilled pleasure in the ice cream parlour or on the terrace. Of course, you can also simply conjure up your own fruity ice cream dream at home. Try our recipes for banana and matcha nice cream, blueberry and coconut nice cream or orange and banana nice cream with raspberries

  7. Meditate on a park bench
Rest, meditation and relaxation are best experienced outdoors in spring. The great thing is that you don’t need any equipment to do this. For example, you can enjoy a short mindful break on a park bench. Make yourself comfortable as you take a break during a spring walk. Close your eyes, breathe consciously and listen to the sounds of spring. Give it a try!

  8. Feed the animals in a wildlife park
Discover brief moments of happiness! It sounds mundane, but it is a fantastic well-being idea for the spring. A trip to a wildlife park is sure to please young and old nature fans. Proximity to animals can have a calming effect and simply brings joy. And after the long winter, you will soon be able to marvel at the first new-borns of the year in wildlife parks.

  9. Go on an insect safari
Want to inspire your kids with a well-being idea for the spring? Then why not embark on an insect safari together? These nimble little crawlers are best observed in small boxes or using magnifying bug viewers. You will find spiders, beetles and worms in almost any bush. Open your eyes – it’s spring!

  10. Stroll around the weekly market
A visit to a weekly market is also a well-being idea for the spring. A ramble around the colourful stalls is sure to give you inspiration for delicious spring meals. Stock up on fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs. You can run riot creatively then when you get home. A colourful bunch of spring flowers is also a must for the shopping basket!

Bring on the well-being spring!
