What can you do with leftover pineapple skins? Lots of things! How about our refreshing pineapple skin iced tea? A completely new tasty treat can be conjured up from so-called leftovers. This vitamin-rich drink proves how easy food upcycling is every day. Happy sipping!
Directions
To make the tea infusion: Wash the organic pineapple skin and core and boil in 1.3 litres of water for around 5 minutes. Allow the infusion to cool for roughly half an hour and pour it through a fine sieve. Stir in the lemon juice and acacia honey.
To serve: Add a sprig of mint and ice cubes to tall glasses and pour in the tea infusion. Cut the pineapple slice into strips, make an incision into each one using a sharp knife and place on the edge of the glass for decoration.
Tip: For particularly pretty ice cubes, remove the peel of an organic lemon using a zester and add to the moulds in an ice maker, together with some small mint leaves. Fill up with water and freeze for approx. 3 hours. The ice cubes will look particularly clear if you use distilled water.
Another word for happiness? Iced tea!
